Connection Basics

Regional Availability and Long-Lived Connections

Connecting to AI tools involves more than loading a webpage. Sign-in, authentication, model requests, uploads and downloads may use different domains. Opening the homepage only confirms that some requests are getting through. Starting a conversation and receiving a complete response also depend on subsequent requests using a working network configuration.

Regional Availability and IP Risk Checks Are Different

Platforms may consider your exit IP, account region, organization policies and payment details when deciding which features are available. Supported regions and rules can change, so check the tool's current official guidance. Changing your network exit does not change your account's region or grant model access. Shared exits may also prompt additional verification, but a single verification request does not prove the route is failing.

Streaming Requires a Continuous Response

Conversation responses often arrive incrementally over an event stream or another persistent connection. A short request succeeding does not mean a longer response won't be interrupted by your local network, a proxy timeout or device sleep. If output stalls, check whether other pages still load, whether the client reconnects and whether the app reports a server error. Model generation time is not the same as network latency.

Y6VPN offers routes in 110+ countries and 230+ routes, but that does not mean every AI tool supports every region. Choose a route that meets the platform's regional requirements first, then compare whether the same task completes reliably across routes. Bank-grade encryption describes protection for data in transit; it does not bypass a platform's account checks.

Tools × Routes

AI Tool Route Comparison

Use these points to guide troubleshooting. They are not a list of supported regions and do not imply that any route includes a tool subscription or API credits.

Check the platform's supported regions first, then verify that sign-in, requests and responses complete successfully
Tool Key network requirements Routes to test first Commonly missed steps
ChatGPT Regional availability, authentication and continuous conversation responses IEPL or relay routes with a consistent exit in a supported region Sign-in redirects, file uploads and web sessions
Claude Platform regional rules, sign-in checks and long-form responses Routes in supported regions that can receive long responses without interruption Check account restrictions separately from network errors
Gemini Google account status and regional eligibility for specific features Routes that meet the current regional requirements for the feature Web and developer API access may have different permissions
Copilot Sign-in flow for the relevant Microsoft or GitHub product Routes that can reach both identity services and product APIs Troubleshoot consumer Copilot and GitHub Copilot separately
Midjourney Account sign-in, task submission and image asset access Routes that cover both the app and its asset domains Check requirements for the web or Discord entry point you use
Cursor Editor requests, authentication and streaming code responses Routes the IDE actually uses and can maintain for continuous responses Signing in through a browser does not mean the editor is using the proxy

IEPL, relay and direct routes describe network paths, not eligibility to use a tool. A dedicated route does not necessarily mean a dedicated IP. Native, residential or dedicated IPs alone cannot guarantee that an account will pass a platform's risk checks. Confirm the specific exit characteristics in the dashboard and through actual connection tests.

Sign-In

Account Setup and Sign-In Checks

Before you start, check the tool's supported regions, age requirements and account eligibility. Use genuine account details that meet the platform's requirements; don't use false location or payment information to get around eligibility rules. Your Y6VPN account and AI tool accounts are separate. Y6VPN requires no email address; create an account with a username and password. The target tool may still require email verification, organization authorization or other identity checks.

Once sign-in begins, keep the exit region consistent where possible. Frequent route changes can make the platform treat the session as a change in environment and ask you to verify again. If verification loops, first check whether your browser is blocking required cookies, scripts or sign-in redirects. Then check whether browser extensions or proxy rules are routing identity services differently. Avoid repeatedly submitting the same failed request in quick succession.

Business accounts may also be subject to administrator policies. For example, an organization may not have enabled a feature, the workspace may not have the required seat, or the device may need to meet management requirements. Contact your account administrator about these issues. Changing routes can help establish a connection, but cannot replace organization authorization or restore an account restricted by the platform.

Access Methods

Different Requirements for Web and API Access

Web: Check the Entire Session

Web apps use your browser's saved sign-in state and may also load static assets, verification components and file services. Don't test only by refreshing the homepage: complete a regular conversation and check that the response finishes. If you need uploads, test file handling separately. If it fails only in one browser, try an isolated browser profile to distinguish network issues from cache or extension problems.

API: Check the Endpoint, Permissions and Request Origin

APIs are usually called directly by a program. Authentication, endpoint URLs, model permissions and billing may all differ from the web app. A web subscription does not automatically include API access. Check the platform's official developer documentation for the endpoint, account permissions and current regional requirements, then inspect the network environment used by your application.

API requests from a remote server originate on that server, not on the computer you use to view its dashboard. Connecting your computer to Y6VPN does not mean a remote machine or cloud application uses the same exit. For authentication errors, check the key and project first; for quota or permission errors, check the account. Investigate the network layer for connection timeouts, certificate errors and interrupted responses.

Network plans, AI web subscriptions and API billing are separate services. Y6VPN plans do not include an account, model permissions or API credits for the target tool.

Developer Environments

Configuration Tips for Terminals, IDEs and CI

Command-Line Tools and SDKs

Command-line tools do not necessarily inherit your system proxy settings. Check whether your tool or SDK supports proxy environment variables, a dedicated proxy option or custom transport settings, then use the local listening address shown by your client. Don't copy someone else's port or protocol settings. Check the tool's documentation to confirm whether it supports HTTP or SOCKS proxies.

Environment variables usually affect only the current process and its child processes. After setting them, you may need to restart terminals, background tasks or editors that are already running. WSL, containers and remote development environments each have their own network boundaries; a loopback address inside them may not point to the host machine. First confirm where the process runs, then check whether it can reach the proxy listener.

IDEs and Extensions

Cursor, GitHub Copilot and other editor extensions may use different networking libraries. The editor's proxy settings, an extension's own settings and terminal environment variables may not carry over to one another. After authorizing in a browser, return to the editor and test an actual request. For remote workspaces, check whether the extension runs locally or in the remote extension host.

If your organization inspects certificates, use the trusted certificate solution provided by your administrator. Don't disable certificate verification to clear an error. When filing a support ticket, include the error category, client platform, route and point of failure. Remove keys, authorization headers and subscription URLs before sharing logs.

CI and Automated Jobs

Cloud CI runners do not inherit your personal computer's connection state. Configure the exit, DNS, proxy and credential sources explicitly in the execution environment, and follow the CI platform's and target API's usage rules. Shared runners may use changing exits, so local test results do not establish that the pipeline can connect.

Store keys in your platform's secret variables, not in your repository or build logs. Set timeouts and cancellation behavior to suit streaming requests. Before retrying, check whether the platform has already accepted the request to avoid duplicate execution or billing. Set concurrency and retry policies according to the official API limits; frequent exit changes are not a substitute for rate-limit handling.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

Note which stage the error occurs at. Change one condition at a time and keep a reproducible set of steps.

The page loads, but the tool says the region isn't available

First check the current supported regions for the tool and the specific feature, then verify that your actual exit meets the requirements. Account region, organization policies and payment eligibility may also factor into the decision. If the platform does not offer the service in your region, follow its rules; don't keep switching routes to try to replace an eligibility check.

Sign-in verification keeps repeating, or authorization returns to the sign-in page

Keep the session on a consistent exit, and check required cookies, browser time, script blocking and routing rules for identity services. If the error occurs only in one browser profile, disable extensions in an isolated profile and try again. If the platform asks for additional account verification, follow its process instead of assuming the route is at fault.

The response starts, then gets stuck

Check client reconnect logs, device sleep settings and proxy timeouts, and see whether the platform returned a generation error. Compare routes that meet the regional requirements using the same task type. If regular pages work but streaming responses keep getting interrupted, focus on the long-response path and application timeouts.

The web app works, but the terminal or editor times out

Check whether the failing process is actually using the proxy, especially for remote extensions, containers and background services. Verify the proxy protocol and listening address, and make sure the process was restarted after its settings changed. Don't assume every program uses the same route just because your browser's exit was verified.

The API returns a permission, quota or rate-limit error

Save a redacted copy of the error and check authentication, model access, project balance and usage limits separately. A clear application-level error from the platform usually means the request reached its server, but does not prove every network component is working. Follow the official error guidance first; don't make route switching the default fix.

Choosing a Route

Choose a Route and Plan for How You Use It

For everyday web conversations, start with a region supported by the tool. Verify sign-in and uninterrupted responses, then keep a suitable route as your default. You can compare IEPL, relay and direct routes in the same region, but don't judge by the route name alone. Peak-hour congestion, platform load and your local network can all affect performance.

For code editing and long-running tasks, check that responses complete, how the app recovers from disconnects and whether remote processes use the intended exit. Image generation, file uploads and downloads also require checking asset domains. Keeping a suitable backup route can help with troubleshooting, but save your task and session before switching so you don't confuse application retries with route changes.

Choose a monthly plan based on your actual data needs: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB, ¥18/month includes 250GB, and ¥28/month includes 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date. Mid-cycle upgrades are prorated by the remaining days. Text requests cannot be translated into a fixed data-use guarantee; usage for attachments, images and sync tasks varies with their content.

If your usage varies, compare data packs that never expire: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB and ¥658/3000GB, usable until depleted. This service supports unlimited devices and Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Tasks across multiple devices still use plan data. Pay with Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. A 7-day refund policy is available.

Next, view regions and route types on the Routes page, then compare monthly plans and data packs on the Plans page. Follow the getting started guide to set up your client.
